Scaling middle market platforms E. Perot Bissell’s impact as an Acadia Healthcare director

E. Perot Bissell, Acadia Healthcare director since April 2013, brings more than three decades of corporate finance, operational management and private equity experience to the behavioral health company’s board. His background blends hands‑on turnaround work, roll‑up strategies and capital markets expertise, positioning him as a strategic voice on governance and transaction matters.

Bissell’s career includes leadership roles across the security, protection and energy logistics sectors. In the mid‑2000s he oversaw the transformation of ASG Security, guiding an aggressive M&A program that expanded recurring revenue and culminated in a sale to a strategic buyer. He later served as CEO and board member of Maxum Petroleum, where he led 18 follow‑on acquisitions, consolidated systems and governance, and helped grow the business into a leading independent distributor of lubricants and diesel fuel before its acquisition by Pilot Flying J.

From late 2013 to mid‑2015 he was CEO of Next Generation Energy Logistics LLC, a private equity‑backed platform focused on downstream energy logistics. His private equity and merchant banking experience includes partnerships at Northwest Capital Appreciation and SLP Capital, and earlier stints in corporate finance at Bankers Trust, Drexel Burnham and PaineWebber. Across these roles, Bissell has consistently executed consolidation strategies, managed complex capital raises and top‑graded management teams.

On boards, his résumé extends beyond Acadia Healthcare to include Maxum Enterprises and previously ASG Security, SLP Capital and SPI Petroleum. Board members and investors have cited his deep transactional experience and financial acumen as key qualifications for directorships and oversight responsibilities.

Bissell’s governance profile reflects a blend of strategic M&A execution and operational focus: merging brands, integrating IT and back‑office systems, and aligning leadership around growth objectives. Those capabilities align with the demands of healthcare firms navigating consolidation, regulatory scrutiny and capital allocation choices.

In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Bissell participates on several charitable boards, reinforcing a broader commitment to community and nonprofit engagement. As Acadia Healthcare charts growth and oversight priorities, his mix of deal experience and operational rigor remains central to board deliberations.
